Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
— Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)
Restoring the old Children's Home in Danville to create spaces for ministry, outreach, education, and community support.
Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.
— Psalm 127:1 (NKJV)
The Danville Christian Resource Center was established to bring the light of Christ into a community with great spiritual and practical needs. Danville, Illinois faces many challenges—from addiction and homelessness to economic hardship—but we believe it also holds tremendous opportunity for God’s people to serve, love, and make a difference.
This work began when the Lord miraculously provided several buildings in Danville, including one near the local hospital, through circumstances that could only be described as His doing. Though some of these properties require significant restoration, we trust that God has a purpose for each space and will provide the means to see His work completed.
The Resource Center exists to unite Christian ministries and individuals who share a heart to glorify God through compassionate service, practical help, and the spreading of His Word.
With God all things are possible.
— Matthew 19:26 (NKJV)
Our vision is simple:
To glorify God by meeting both the spiritual and practical needs of the Danville community through the love of Christ.
We desire to see:
- The Gospel proclaimed through word and deed
- Believers equipped for service and discipleship
- The local community strengthened by Christian compassion
- A place where ministries can work together for greater impact
We believe that as we walk in unity and obedience, the Lord will use these efforts to transform lives.
We are seeking God’s guidance on how best to use the facilities He has provided. Some possible ministries being prayerfully considered include:
- A Bible and literature distribution center
- Community classes in literacy, life skills, and English as a Second Language
- A Christian bookstore or resource library
- A coffee shop or community café to build relationships and offer hope
- A daycare or after-school program with biblical values
- A conference or outreach center for Christian teaching and fellowship
- Youth and children’s programs such as Vacation Bible School and Bible clubs
We invite you to join us in prayer as we continue this journey:
- That God would guide and unify all who are involved
- That He would provide the needed workers, wisdom, and resources
- And that through all of this, many would come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ
